Mother's Day at GMCT

This Mother’s Day, we extend our warmest thoughts to everyone in our community.

Whether you’re celebrating with mum, or remembering them today, we pause with you to recognise and honour the deep impact mothers and mother figures have on our lives. To those visiting our cemeteries and memorial parks to pay tribute, we acknowledge this day as a time for reflection and connection.


GMCT invites you to attend a series of free community events to commemorate this important day:

  • Floral workshops at Fawkner, Altona and Lilydale Memorial Parks in the lead up to Mother’s Day
  • Complimentary flower stands and hot drinks at four locations on Mother’s Day
  • Special memorial service hosted by Le Pine at Lilydale Memorial Park

Regional offices will also be open on Mother’s Day from 10am to 2pm at Altona Memorial Park, Fawkner Memorial Park and Lilydale Memorial Park.

Please note: Mother's Day can attract increased traffic across our memorial parks and cemeteries. We ask that you take care during your visit.

Floral workshop

Led by Hello Hydie Flowers, craft your own bouquet of native flowers to remember a loved one this Mother’s Day. These workshops provide space for quiet contemplation and connection with your community

Flower stands

On Mother’s Day, Sunday 10 May, across four of GMCT’s memorial parks you will find complimentary flower stands offering single stems as a gift to you and your family. Complimentary coffee carts will also be serving hot drinks for you to enjoy before or after visiting loved ones.

Remembrance service
